Valentine’s Day, like many other special occasions over the last year, will be like no other we have experienced. Lockdown has made visiting our loved ones very challenging and we have had to find creative ways to connect with each other.

Whether you are lucky enough to have a 'special someone' in your support bubble or not, we have a range of gifts and ideas to let them know just how important they are to you. If you can’t actually be together, maybe just leaving a token of your love on their doorstep can keep the sentiment of the day alive.
Romantic gestures come in all shapes and sizes, a love letter, something nice to eat, writing a poem or song….the list is endless. If you need a little help and inspiration though, don’t fret! You’ll find lots of ideas like a box of chocolates, candles and holders, toiletries, jewellery or a trinket in our Lifestyle department. Something as simple as a carefully chosen card with a loving message can make your loved one feel very special and we have a large range in stock along with lots of beautiful gift wrap.

Your loved one might prefer a more permanent reminder of how much they mean to you. An ideal way to convey this is through plants – whether for inside or out in the garden. We have a large range of Roses in stock with romantic names such as ‘You’re Beautiful’, ‘Truly Loved’, ‘Precious Love’, ‘One Love’, and ‘Lovestruck’ to name but a few. To complete the gift, why not plant the rose into a beautiful pots with some nourishing compost? There’s lot’s to choose form in our Landscape department.

If your someone special doesn’t have a garden then how about a houseplant to bring some loving vibes into the home? Our Houseplant department is just bursting with beautiful specimens, many of which would make a lovely gift. However there are two in particular that say ‘I love you’ just that little bit louder than the rest. Beautiful white Orchids, and Anthuriums in beautiful shades of pink and red – what could be more romantic? Once again you may want to add some finishing touches by placing your chosen plant in a pot or including any appropriate accessories for the plant. We have it all in stock and if you’d like some expert advice don’t hesitate to ask one of our friendly team for assistance.

Perhaps your loved one might prefer a more practical gift for the garden especially if they are an avid gardener? A pair of good gardening gloves, strong secateursor a handy trowel, might be just the thing to show them how much you care!

However you are able to spend Valentine’s Day this year we hope it is a happy and loving occasion. We are all doing our best to keep things as ‘normal’ as we can until better and brighter days are ours once more.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
