Information for consumers on online shopping is available from many sources, including the UK Government’s Consumer Direct (www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/), the Office of Fair Trading (www.oft.gov.uk/), and consumer organisations, magazines and other media.
DTI's Safe Internet Shopping initiative aims to encourage consumers to shop online by explaining how to do so safely. DTI has worked with a range of public and private sector partners to provide improved access to information on the full range of consumer concerns (eg safe payment, data protection, illegal content, redress).
